From November 7, 2025 to May 10, 2026, the National Gallery presents Wright of Derby: From the Shadows, the first major exhibition devoted to Joseph Wright’s iconic candlelit paintings. Featuring over 20 works including paintings, prints, and objects, the exhibition offers a fresh perspective on his role within the Enlightenment, while exploring the deeper emotional and philosophical layers of his art.
