Abramovich was born in the city of Mazayik, and in his youth studied art at the Kaunas Art School. He immigrated to Israel in 1929, and worked in the studio of Yosef Zaritsky in Tel Aviv.
During World War II, he stayed in several countries on behalf of the Haganah, and was greatly influenced by the art he saw there, with an emphasis on the Paris School.
Abramovich used a variety of techniques in his works, including drawings, oil paintings, prints, watercolors, ceramic sculpture, and more.
