The artist explores the theme of Human Emotions. Emotions torment and delight people, they trap us in deep traps and stir us up. Svetlana Rezvaya examines how human emotions are put together and can be projected onto the canvas. This is a metaphysical, abstract way of exploring what we can call the human soul. Svetlana's paintings have colorful expressions and invite the viewer to reflection. The artist uses oil and acrylic techniques, likes to combine painting and drawing that dance and mix with each other on the canvas. Rezvaya makes visible emotions that everyone experiences, but is unable to describe in words.
I am Svetlana Rezvaya, an artist based in Oslo, Norway. I studied at an art school and later completed my master's degree in Subject Knowledge at Nord University. The latter was the starting point for philosophical works with concepts. I paint both figurative and abstract paintings. The colors and compositions change, it depends on my feelings in the painting process. In the process of creating artwork, elements can come spontaneously, and if it is beautiful, I keep it. And then the painting develops along its own path. Sometimes the paintings can come to me in my dreams. Then it is important in the morning when I wake up to make a sketch. Artistic images visit me when I am in a state between reality and sleep, when I am not yet fully awake, but no longer asleep. In paintings I strive to convey feelings of peace, joy and sometimes sadness or movement, hope and renewal. For 25 years I have been painting paintings. Many of them are in private collections in Norway, Finland, Austria, the USA, Russia and Germany.
