About London in the Second World War - Exhibition:
London in the Second World War – Exhibition runs until 19 February 2026 at The London Archives, offering an intimate look at life in wartime London. Explore the Blitz through London County Council bomb damage maps, striking photographs by City Police photographers Cross and Tibbs, and rare original artworks depicting the devastation. The exhibition includes diaries, oral histories, and personal stories, including the little-known account of Auxiliary Ambulance Station 50, staffed entirely by South Asian Londoners. It also examines the city’s postwar reconstruction, including the County of London Plan and the Lansbury Estate project for the 1951 Festival of Britain. Free admission, with occasional curator-led tours.
