About Emily Kam Kngwarray – Tate Modern Exhibition:
The Emily Kam Kngwarray exhibition at Tate Modern (10 July 2025 – 11 January 2026) is a landmark presentation of one of the most important artists of the late 20th century. An Anmatyerr woman from the Sandover region of Australia’s Northern Territory, Kngwarray’s works draw deeply from her cultural and spiritual connection to Country. Visitors will experience her evolution from vibrant batiks to powerful large-scale paintings that map the plants, animals, and landforms of her ancestral home. This is the first large-scale European exhibition of her work, created in collaboration with the National Gallery of Australia.
