Taras Loboda was born on May 4, 1961, in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, into the family of renowned Ukrainian artist I.I. Loboda. He graduated from the Institute of Art in Kyiv (1979–1985) and studied at the well-known Zaretsky Studio in 1979. A participant in numerous international and Soviet-era exhibitions, he has lived and worked in Prague, Czech Republic, since 1993.
Taras creates thematic compositions, portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. His work primarily explores three recurring themes: melancholic and melodic female portraits, classical still lifes, and dreamlike phantom landscapes.
