"I WOULD LIKE TO BRING YOU LOVE"
Becoming an artist was quite natural for me. Colours, brushes, and canvases have followed me all the way since early childhood, as I come from a Latvian artist family spanning several generations.
I’ve been participating in exhibitions since the age of sixteen and have won several awards. The most important was the opportunity to spend time in Vienna, Austria, where I discovered the art of F. Hundertwasser, which truly inspired me. Other inspiring names in art for me are Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt, and Pablo Picasso.
For the last twenty years, I’ve been living in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The beautiful scenery of Yorkshire broadens my creativity. It’s a unique blend of different landscapes—it feels like Italy, France, Spain, and Latvia all in one.
In my paintings, I devote much attention to the play of colours, lines, and narrative. I convey my vision of the world through colours and images, but the plot plays a special role. The paintings were created mainly during my travels. I try to perceive the world not only in my native Latvia but also in other countries. Each painting tells its own story—about the scenic mountains of Tuscany, the magical cathedrals of Italy, Britain’s enchanting gardens, or a cat that brings warmth and peace to a home. A woman waiting for the love of her life…
I wish to spread beauty in the world and bring happiness to people through my paintings. I want everyone looking at my art to feel the love I offer. Who knows—maybe someone will share that love with others…
