About Art Dubai 2026:
What to Expect in 2026
This year’s main Galleries section will feature leading contemporary and modern art spaces, with strong, curatorially driven presentations.
- Zamaniyyat, curated by Sarah A. Rifky, looks at 20th-century artists from the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America—names that helped shape regional modernisms, often outside the Western canon.
- Bawwaba, curated by Amal Khalaf, is dedicated to solo shows by emerging and mid-career artists. Many of the works are newly produced and deeply tied to the artists’ cultural and political environments.
- Bawwaba Extended expands into the fair’s public space, with installations, sound, video, and performance. It’s co-curated with Alexie Glass-Kantor and built for experimentation.
- Art Dubai Digital, led by Ulrich Schrauth and Nadine Khalil, brings together artists and studios working with immersive media, digital tools, and emerging tech.
Galleries interested in participating can apply through the official portal by October 10, 2025. Proposals are reviewed by an international committee.
Looking Back: Highlights from Art Dubai 2025Art Dubai 2025 offered visitors a dynamic mix of contemporary, modern, and digital art. The Contemporary section showcased galleries from emerging art scenes and established centers worldwide, while Bawwaba, curated by Mirjam Varadinis, presented ten solo shows reflecting on displacement and new models of coexistence. Art Dubai Modern, curated by Magalí Arriola and Nada Shabout, highlighted the region’s 20th-century masters and their role in shaping global modernisms. Meanwhile, Art Dubai Digital, curated by Gonzalo Herrero Delicado, expanded on the idea of the “technological sublime,” exploring both the wonder and unease of human innovation.
