Art Basel in Basel 2026 brings together over 200 leading galleries and more than 4,000 artists from five continents. From June 18–21, the Swiss city transforms into a global hub for Modern and contemporary art, offering a rich program of exhibitions, talks, and cultural events across the region.
Exhibitors and SectorsArt Basel in Basel is divided into curated sectors, each highlighting a unique perspective on art:
- Galleries: Modern masters alongside leading contemporary artists.
- Unlimited: Monumental installations, large-scale projects, and performances (curated by Ruba Katrib in 2026).
- Messeplatz Project: Public art installations transforming Basel’s urban spaces.
- Feature: Curated historical presentations of 20th-century artists.
- Statements: Solo projects by emerging artists, eligible for the Baloise Art Prize.
- Premiere: Precisely curated presentations by up to three artists.
- Edition: Works in editions, multiples, and prints.
- Kabinett: Curated selections inside gallery booths.
- Parcours: Site-specific projects across Clarastrasse leading to the Rhine.
- Magazines: International art publications.
Unlimited remains a centerpiece of Art Basel in Basel. This pioneering exhibition platform showcases colossal sculptures, expansive video works, installations, and live performances in a 16,000 m² hall. Curated by Ruba Katrib, Unlimited 2026 will offer an immersive experience that pushes the boundaries of the traditional art fair.
Conversations & Cultural InstitutionsThe Conversations program features leading cultural voices in panel discussions, exploring art, society, and the future of collecting.
Basel is home to 37 museums, including Fondation Beyeler and Kunstmuseum Basel. During fair week, many institutions offer complimentary entry for Art Basel VIP Card holders.
Art Kids ProgramArt Basel’s Art Kids program provides a safe, creative space for children ages 4–12. The 2026 edition will continue with interactive workshops, play zones, and curated art activities, supervised by professionals. Babysitting services are also available for younger children with pre-registration.
Recap of the 2025 EditionArt Basel in Basel 2025 celebrated its 55th anniversary with 289 galleries from 42 countries and over 88,000 visitors. Strong sales across all segments confirmed its role as the global art market’s premier event. Highlights included Katharina Grosse’s CHOIR installation at Messeplatz and nearly 70 large-scale works in the Unlimited sector.

The edition also introduced the Art Basel Awards, honored 36 medalists, and featured standout exhibitions across Basel’s leading museums, from the Fondation Beyeler to Kunstmuseum Basel. With vibrant public programming, institutional attendance, and a dynamic Art Basel Shop, the fair reinforced Basel’s place as a world hub for art and culture.

Visitor GuidelinesTo ensure a smooth visit:
- Bags: Only one small bag per visitor (max. 40 × 20 × 40 cm). Larger bags must be left at coat check.
- Prohibited Items: Backpacks, suitcases, umbrellas, sharp objects, drones, food, and drinks.
- Photography: Personal, non-commercial photography allowed (no tripods, flashes, or large cameras).
- Accessibility: Wheelchairs available free of charge; venue is fully ADA-compliant.
- Service Animals: Only certified assistance animals are permitted.
