Maia was born in 1969 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1984, she began her studies in Fine Art at Nikoladze Art School in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she spent four years honing her skills. In 1998, she enrolled in the Faculty of Fine Art at the State Art Academy in Tbilisi.
Maia has participated in numerous festivals and group exhibitions across Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Germany, the USA, and Ireland. Her works are held in private collections in Georgia, Turkey, Germany, the UK, Israel, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, and the USA.
