Mordechai Cohen is an innovative Israeli artist whose use of unconventional materials redefines texture and form in contemporary visual expression.
Born in Morocco in 1945, Mordechai Cohen has spent the past six years immersed in his artistic practice at his studio in Kiryat HaMelacha, Tel Aviv’s dynamic creative district. This phase of his career is defined by bold experimentation with nontraditional materials such as industrial paints, tar, printing ink, and acrylics—media that allow him to explore new dimensions of texture, color, and form.
By integrating these unconventional elements, Cohen challenges the conventions of fine art, embracing a raw, tactile approach that gives his work a distinctive visual and emotional impact. His commitment to innovation and material exploration continues to shape a compelling and evolving body of work that invites viewers into unexpected visual experiences.
