Svetlana Ulko was born in 1957 in Krasnodar, Russia. At 16, she began her studies in the "Teacher of Drawing and Drafting" program at Krasnodar Art College. After graduating, she worked for a year at the Ust-Labinsk Art School in Russia.
Svetlana later moved to Moscow to study at the Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), specializing in "Cinema Production Costume Design." Upon completing her studies in 1985, she joined the Kyiv Film Studios named after Alexandr Petrovych Dovzhenko.
Throughout her career, Svetlana contributed to the production of over 20 full-length films and television series.
