Uri Lifshitz was an Israeli painter and sculptor, born in 1936 in Kibbutz Givat Hashlosha. Lifshitz's style was considered groundbreaking, and he was among the postmodernist artists. Initially, he painted mainly in a lyrical abstract style, but in the 1960s, he shifted to a more figurative style. Lifshitz was also part of the innovative and pioneering "Ten Plus" group. Throughout his long career, he created numerous paintings and prints.
Lifshitz received many awards during his lifetime, including the Kolb Prize from the Tel Aviv Museum, the Marc Chagall Prize, and the Dizengoff Prize. His works were exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Israel and abroad and are included in major collections in Israel.
